Given Only 15 Months To Live ...

3 Months after the birth of her first child, in 2005, Heather Von St. James was given only 15 months to live. She was diagnosed with Pleural Mesothelioma, a deadly cancer caused by asbestos.

Today, nine years later, she lives to tell her story.

Watch her story below.

Since Heather's father was a construction worker, she became exposed to the asbestos fibers that were contained on her father's jacket. She loved to wear his coat when he would come home, little did she know it would make her sick in the future. Because asbestos was used in building materials in the 1970's (and has still not been banned from use in the U.S. and Canada), there could be a lot of potential cases. Heather is living a miracle. After a treatment to remove her left lung, and living years in recovery, she lives to tell her story. With Heather's story, we can help share the awareness on Mesothelioma and Asbestos, and learn how it can be avoided.

Please share Heather's story on behalf of today, Cancer Survivor's Day.
