I love recycling furniture to make the old new again, and when I came across this not so cute wooden Dora stool, I knew I wanted to make it mine. I started by giving the stool a good scrub using coarse sandpaper to allow the new paint to seep in and hold. This took a lot of elbow work as Dora just did not want to cooperate ;)
After some good hard scrubbing, I cleaned away the dust, screwed off the legs, and began painting. I chose a bright Barn Red color for this stool, and love the turn out! It's eye catching yet subtly sits in my living room adding a pop of color.
What do ya think? Would you have painted the stool red or a different color?
