Kneading Out Some Country Biscuits + Recipe

A friend gave us this Country Biscuit Recipe to try, and they turned out pretty good, so I thought I would share it with you! To make these biscuits, you need the following ingredients:

2 cups flour
¼ teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 stick of butter
1 cup of buttermilk
1 Tablespoon Sugar (optional)

Mix flour, salt, and baking powder together. Cut butter into small cubes and add it to the dry mix above, making sure to combine it all together so that the butter pieces are very fine. Slowly add in the buttermilk, to complete your dough. Once everything is combined and you have a nice plump dough, dump it out into a floured surface and begin kneading. Knead and took about three times, then roll the dough out to about ¾ to an inch. Use a round cutter or cut into squares. Place pieces on a greased cookie sheet and Bake in the oven @ 425° for about 10 minutes. Add a few extra minutes if needed.

Once baked through, with a nice golden top, pull your biscuits from the oven and top each with some melted butter if you like. Allow them to cool enough to eat. They're good as is, with butter and jelly, or as biscuits and gravy.

Enjoy!
