The Homesick Texan's Family Table - Book Review

The Homesick Texan's Family Table is a cookbook filled with more than 125 comforting Texan recipes,
written by beloved food blogger and seventh-generation Texan, Lisa Fain. Inside this book, there are several recipes ranging from down-home standards like cheesy-nachos, chicken and dumplings, and fiery wings, to party friendly snacks like Pigs in Jalapeno Blankets, Steak Fingers with Gravy, and Pecan Sheet Cake... there are so many recipes to make,
for any occasion!

I originally chose this book to review, as my husband is from Texas, and I figured it would make for some really delicious dinners, and possibly a surprise or two that I could show him. There's several dishes in here I will be trying, like the Sausage and Shrimp Jambalaya, the Jalapeno Corn Sticks, and the Pecan Pie. mouth is watering just thinking about it.

I love the authors introduction, talking about her most memorable meal, a potluck for her grandparents anniversary; Family and friends gathering, catching up on each others past and enjoying delicious foods while doing so. She really sets the picture for her memory and gets you in the spirit of cooking.
Each chapter deals with a different set of foods, from breakfasts and breads, snacks and sides, chilis, soups, the main course and sweets. There are so many foods to make and enjoy. Most of the recipes include a picture of the meal, and throughout the book, you will find more stories of the authors life and experiences, as well as photos of scenery around Texas. Truly another beautiful cookbook,
I am happy to have added to my collection.
