Explore the Cosmos and Truth in: The Story of Everything + Giveaway

Inspired by Stephen C. Meyer’s best selling book Return of the God Hypothesis, The Story of Everything brings cinematic themes to explore the cosmos and the hidden truth behind our universe. It goes into the depths of patterns and details that define what a living cell is, it studies the structure of DNA, and examines the stars in the solar system. The Story of Everything dives into the questions we have about creation and what life is, searching for evidence of purpose in our existence.

This film will definitely bring conversation to those that watch it. It really makes you think, about how things work in the universe. It’s very intellectual and if you have the time to devote an hour and a half to watch it, it’s a good documentary to listen to. The Story of Everything holds interviews with scientists, where they argue about scientific evidence and discuss things such as the Big Bang and the digital coding of DNA. They use CGI and digital effects to bring visualization to each concept. If you're into learning further on how things work in the world, this is a pretty interesting film to check out.

The Story of Everything was in theater for a limited time, but now you can buy it on Amazon Prime to see it from the comfort of your own home.

Just One More - Movie Now Streaming on Angel + Giveaway

Just One More is a film about a young teenage girl who struggles with an addiction to opioids. She really wants to overcome this cycle but the constant chase of that high, leads her further and further away from achieving this. She meets a man who is dying and hopes to reach anyone who needs help, asking God for just one more chance to be used by Him and help someone in need. She finds that this man’s prayers are helping her reconsider her life choices and bringing a community of faith together, to help her see what being loved, and free from addiction really means.

I have never personally been addicted to opioids but I have watched from the front seat of it unfolding. I’ve had people close to me, who have lost their life to drugs. I understand addiction is a hard thing that takes over your life, and feels near impossible to overcome. This film shows, just a glimpse of what it’s like for someone living through the addiction and trying to escape from it. It’s good for people to watch and gain a better understanding of how hard addiction is, and how those experiencing it, need us to help them even when they might try to push us away. A second chance might just be what that person needs, to know people around them really care.

This would be a great study Bible for Youth Group, Women’s Bible Study, and more!

From Sheet to Drink: Milkadamia Oat Milk Slices

Do you like drinking Oat Milk? I love having it as a substitute for dairy milk. It tastes great in my coffee, and you can even bake with it! But have you ever had Oat Milk Slices?

It's the greatest new invention!

Milkadamia makes these amazing oat milk slices that are exactly what you would expect. Oat milk that has been processed in a way in which they make flat sheets that blend with water to turn into fresh oat milk. This is a better, more eco-friendly way to produce oat milk, with less packaging and lighter shipment. Every package contains 20 slices, where each slice makes 8fl oz, all you have to do is add a cup or so of water for every slice, blend for 60 seconds, and it's ready! You will have barista quality oat milk, and it froths nicely to add to your cup of tea or coffee! If you don't want to use a blender, you can soak sheet(s) in water for about 30 minutes and shake, to have your oat milk ready at hand. This makes it so great for bringing on travel or camping.

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical about getting a nice cup of oat milk from some interesting looking sheets ... but... I'm won over!! These slices are truly amazing! I didn't expect these sheets to make such delicious oat milk. The texture of each sheet is like that of a fruit rollup, but it's easy to fold and it blends up in water without issue. One sheet makes the right amount for a drink or bowl of cereal, and it lasts for up to 48hrs in the fridge. I like to use mine in my morning coffee. Sometimes I will use a little to make a frothy topping as well. These oat milk sheets are so easy to use and taste just as good as what you would buy in a container. The fact that their keeping excess waste out of the landfill and you can take them with you anywhere...these are the perfect invention Milkadamia could make. I am so happy I've tried them and think you will love them too! And I have to agree with their tagline...

"best thing since sliced milk"

Trying Naked Nutrition Protein Powder & Collagen: My Honest Thoughts

I'm always on the hunt for healthy products to help my body feel good and nourish it from the inside out. I’ve been trying to focus more on getting extra protein in during the day, and taking collagen to help with its anti aging properties.

I've come across some products from Naked Nutrition, a company founded by Stephen Zieminski, designed to use only the most simple and pure ingredients. Their goal is to be completely transparent in the products they make, using the least amount of ingredients possible, to give you the best health you can achieve. They're known for their best selling Naked Whey, harvested from grass-fed cows in Idaho and Northern California, as well as their Naked Pea, made from raw yellow peas grown around Canada and USA. Their products do not contain any artificial flavors or colors, nor any mixing agents or added sweeteners. They have over 100 products and continue to be fully naked, letting you see every ingredient they use, striving to be 5 or less.

The first product I tried was the Naked Nutrition Strawberry Banana Protein Powder. It is vegan friendly, made with premium pea protein, mct powder, coconut sugar, and freeze dried strawberries, just to name a few. Each serving contains 20g of protein, 3g of sugar, and is 130 calories, making it a healthy way to fight sugar cravings. This protein powder can be had as is, or dressed up into a delicious fruit smoothie for added benefits.

This powder has a really nice strawberry smell, but I have to say, the flavor was really lacking. I could taste a little bit of the strawberry, hardly any of the banana, and a whole lot of the pea protein. It was very gritty and left a bad aftertaste.The powder also refused to blend properly with water (whether it was hot or cold), and left way too much sludge at the bottom. I was hoping this was going to be an amazing protein drink, but it unfortunately left me less than satisfied. Maybe it will work baked into a dessert... it might make delicious muffins?

Next I tried the Naked Nutrition Vanilla Collagen. It is produced from grass fed and pasture raised cows, with just three ingredients: Bovine Hide Collagen Peptides, Natural Flavors, and Fermented Cane Sugar (reb-m). Each serving is 80 calories and contains 18g of protein. You use two scoops mixed into your beverage of choice. I was most looking forward to this product, because I love having collagen in my morning coffee every day.

When I first opened the container, my initial reaction was that it was going to be so good, because it smelled incredible! I added 2 scoops into my freshly brewed coffee, mixed well and took a sip. Stevia was the first and only thing I could taste. This made me so frustrated because I absolutely hate the taste of stevia. I continued with a few more sips and I just couldn't bare the taste. I am so sad this collagen basically ruined my cup of coffee for me. So I did a quick search on the ingredients and found that fermented cane sugar (reb-m) is actually made from molecules found on the stevia plant! That explains why it's all I could taste. So I can't recommend this product to those who are sensitive to stevia, like me, but if you're fine with that taste, it would be a great product for you! I know I would love it, as it mixes well and is pretty straightforward... if only it was made with regular cane sugar.

Even though I, unfortunately, didn't find these products to my liking, I'm sure they will have other products I would enjoy. I do like that Naked Nutrition uses simple ingredients, I just have to find the right one's for me. I love watching Christmas movies that are comforting and have that feel good vibe. Christmas At The Cabin has a great backdrop to start the story off…snow covered mountains, a cabin to spend Christmas in, decorations displayed, and even down to the cute Christmas pajamas worn; You can feel the cozy holidays emerge! The film’s faith centered themes and warm holiday setting make it a sweet choice for viewers who love heartfelt Christmas stories. While the wife’s character and some of the dialogue felt a bit over-the-top for me, I can appreciate the story’s reminder that even imperfect holidays can bring healing and hope.

See This Fall Film, GROW, in Theaters Starting October 17th

Ok if you remember me sharing about the newest Fall movie, Grow with Golda Rosheuvel and Nick Frost, I recently got the chance to watch it and I loved it! A quick recap of what this movie is about...

In the pumpkin capital of the world, tough farmer Dinah Little reluctantly takes in her spirited niece, Charlie, and throws her into life on the farm. When the town’s annual pumpkin growing contest arrives, Charlie’s unique gift with plants gives them a surprising edge. As their pumpkin, and their bond, grows, Dinah and Charlie discover that the greatest prize isn’t victory, but joy, laughter, and the love of family. This heartwarming tale blends fierce competition, humor, and the magic of found family.

I really enjoyed watching Grow. The main character, Charlie, was such a sweet and sassy little girl with so much personality and grit. She was determined to grow the biggest pumpkin she could and wouldn't take no for an answer. She had such strength, no matter what she had been through, and pushed through with confidence and cheer. There were some sad times in this film, but also a lot of humor and jokes throughout. I caught myself laughing multiple times, at the hidden and not so hidden silly innuendos. This is a great family friendly, feel good movie to watch in the Fall.
I highly recommend it and I am so glad I got to watch it!

Get Whiter Teeth With Sensodyne Intensive Clean Clinical White Toothpaste

Sensodyne Toothpaste is always my go to for sensitive teeth, I really love using their Gentle Whitening Paste and use it daily! Since I've had great experience with Sensodyne, I was excited to try their Intensive Clean Clinical Whitening to see how it works! This paste is made with four key ingredients: STP, Alumina, and Silica to help remove stains and prevent future staining, and potassium nitrate to calm the nerves and aid in tooth sensitivity. Using the product twice a day, over 8 weeks, you should really start noticing results.

The paste squeezes from the tube good and applies onto the toothbrush as it should. Upon first brushing, I instantly noticed my teeth getting slightly whiter, so it definitely seems to work! I imagine after following the full 8 week trial, your teeth will be a shade or two whiter as mentioned. The only two downfalls I experienced are 1- The taste isn’t very minty to me and 2-the biggest factor is, it caused my teeth to become more sensitive than usual. My dentist told me this was because the chemicals in whitening products tend to make teeth more sensitive as it wears on the enamel. I guess the potassium nitrate didn't help calm my nerves in this product. So it loses a star for the sensitivity it caused but I really like the whitening it brings! If you do not have sensitive teeth, but want to whiten them, you should give this product a try and see what you think!
