The Morning Routine to Start Your Day Off Happy

 

   It's easy to wake up in a fog and feel like you might be a little grumpy throughout the day, but if you follow a fun morning routine, these tips will help you off to a better start!


* Make sure everything you need is set out the day before, for a smooth morning transition. This means choosing your outfit the night before, if it's not easy to grab and go.

* Wake up early, setting an alarm if you have to, to build up the habit of doing so; But in order to do this, you must make sure you go to bed at a decent time to get an adequate amount of sleep your body needs.  

* Upon first waking, rehydrate your body by drinking a few sips of water. The warmer, the better, to get your digestive system flowing! 

 * After releasing the toxins your body built up while sleeping (aka going pee/poop), get into some easy going stretches. Stretch every limb and joint, to invite your body to become more limber and fluid. You can begin a morning workout here if you choose to do so, or you can save that for later in the day, depending on what your body prefers.

* While doing said stretches, allow your mind to meditate a little. Speak your prayers or affirmations over the day, setting a positive energy to flow around you. You can also do this in your morning shower!

* Consume a nutritious breakfast or light snack to give your body the energy it needs to kickstart your day. Eggs, fruit, or granola bars are an excellent source of fuel to start.

* And if all else fails, fake it til you make it! Eventually your body will get into the habit of a better morning. But just remember, it's ok to have a bad day every now and then, just do your best to keep going and soon you will find yourself feeling better each morning.
