Watch: He Calls Me Daughter - Now on Angel + Giveaway

An emotional and uplifting film, He Calls Me Daughter explores the pain and emotion of having a father wound and the process it takes through healing. This faith based documentary is filled with stories from women who have experienced the emotion of an inconsistent father while growing up, and how that shaped who they are today. They talk about how it effected their self worth and relationships with others, the connection or lack there of, due to missing an important piece in their lives. This film navigates through their healing process and testimony of the life and experiences they faced.

I enjoyed watching He Calls Me Daughter, as it is a very personal subject I can relate to. Having a father wound is something that sticks with you life long and you have to find ways to heal, sometimes over and over again, because it doesn't easily go away. Hearing the stories of each woman in this documentary, was very inspiring and encouraging, to understand how they’ve gone on their journey of healing. I especially loved the comedian, Chonda Pierce’s story, and the young woman who was a dancer, that was helped through Rachelle Starr. This is a great faith based documentary with the reminder that God will be a forever father to all who let Him. He will step in where needed and remind you that you are deserving of love.
