Easy Yeast Free Chocolate Bread Recipe

Have you ever tried Chocolate Bread before? It's a bit like a cake, but less sweet. You bake it in a loaf pan and you can eat it for breakfast or a snack, slathering it with jelly or butter, or eating it plain as is. I found this recipe over at Olives+Thyme and made it for my family. It turned out pretty good, although I didn’t have chocolate chips for mine. I think this recipe would make excellent chocolate muffins, especially if you have the added chocolate chips. To make this easy chocolate bread, you need the following ingredients:

  •  cup (150 g) all purpose flour
  • ½ cup (40 g) Dutch processed cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) milk, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (170 g) chocolate chips, divided
  • ½ cup (120 ml) neutral baking oil
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature

If you want to check out how Megan over at Olives + Thyme made hers, follow this link here. She puts a lot more effort into it than I do, because I wanted mine to be quick and easy. I added all the ingredients into one bowl and mixed them together. Once everything was mixed well, I poured batter into an oiled, glass, bread loaf pan and baked in the oven at 350° for approximately 45-55 minutes or more if needed. When it looks done, test the loaf in the center, with a toothpick or butter knife, to make sure the bread has cooked fully through. It should come out clean. Once done, remove the bread from oven to cool. Remove loaf from pan and cut into slices. Enjoy!
