Deception - Book Review

Disclaimer: I received the following product(s) in exchange for my review. All opinions my own.

A book full of suspense with a sprinkle of romance, Deception by Patricia Bradley is one you won't want to put down. This story is about the main character, Madison Thorn, an ISB Ranger, who became entangled in a sad and violent crime, with someone who was supposed to be close to her. This event shaped her future of working in the fraud and cyber crimes division, where she partners with an old childhood rivalry, the handsome Park Ranger, Clayton Bradshaw. These two work together to uncover the mysteries of murder, and violence...one being that of an attack on someone who likes exactly like Madison. It's mystery upon mystery, with a budding friendship that just might lead to romance!

I absolutely enjoyed reading Deception. I started and finished the book within two days! There was so much action in this read, and just when you think the mysteries are solved, another one shows up! Some are predictable and some are not, making this book and excellent read to keep you interested.

You can find Deception available for purchase on Amazon as well as on other book selling locations.

Gracie Lou Wants A Zoo - Book Review

Disclaimer: I received the following product(s) in exchange for my review. All opinions my own.

Gracie Lou Wants A Zoo written by Shelly Roark, is an adorable Children's book, about a little girl named Gracie Lou, who really wants to own all the animals she can. Even though she already has a pet turtle named George, Gracie Lou asks her parents if she can have this animal or that, so she can have an indoor zoo! With each request, the parents respond with a reason why she cannot have the pet: not enough space, not enough water, or supplies for that animal, ect. Her father tells her she needs to be patient, and that God will take care of it when and if the time comes. Gracie Lou becomes tired of waiting and being patient, that she is becoming increasingly irritated. She falls asleep and dreams of owning all the animals she longs for. Her apartment home becomes so full of these pets, that she doesn't know what to do! At first it is fun, but quickly the situation becomes chaotic and messy! When Gracie Lou wakes up, she realizes that maybe she doesn't want all the animals at once, because of the responsibility and lack of space she has, she knew she couldn't care for them all. In the end, Gracie Lou learns to be content in what she has, and enjoy life as it is, being thankful every step of the way.

I love the moral of the story in this book. There's something we all want a little more of, and sometimes we too become irritable and impatient when we don't get our way. This cute story is a reminder that, even though we want something really bad and think it might be great, in the end, what we have now might actually be better than what we think could be more. It's a great story to teach children, to be grateful for what we have been given, and to enjoy each day with a full heart.

You can find Gracie Lou Wants A Zoo available for purchase on Amazon in Hardback or Paperback.

Forever With Jesus - Book Review

Disclaimer: I received the following product(s) in exchange for my review. All opinions my own.

Forever With Jesus written by Lee Ann Mancini and illustrated by Dan Sharp is part of the Adventures of the Sea Kids, an award-winning Children's Christian book series. Each story focuses on different issues one might face, helping children understand the situation better. This book teaches children about death and how Jesus died for our sins and that we can be with Him forever in Heaven if we believe in Him and accept Him into our hearts. While the adorable fishy cousins were visiting their grandmother for her 80th Birthday, their well known neighbor passed away. This, though an unfortunate event, allowed the grandmother to teach her grandchildren about Heaven, where people go when their bodies pass on. She reads a passage from the Bible and explains "in heaven the lion will lay down with the lamb. That means there will be peace. We will have no enemies in heaven." She uses this example to tell her grandchildren the wonders of heaven and that there will be no tears, no pain, and no suffering; Helping them understand that there is no need to fear death, that it happens naturally and believing in Jesus will give them everlasting life in heaven with Him.

I love the colorful illustrations in this story, and the bubbly faces each fish has. The art style reminds me of a combination of Flounder from The Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo, making it very kid friendly and appealing. The story line itself is great to use in teaching children about loved ones passing on. I think this would make an excellent book to gift your child, especially in times of grief, including that of an animal passing. There is also a 'Find and Seek' aspect to the book, finding a hidden cross in each page, to give the child something fun to look forward to. I would love to see the other stories in the Adventures of the Sea Kids children's book!

You can find Forever With Jesus available for purchase on Amazon, christianbook.com, or Barnes and Noble.
