Watch GIGI & NATE in Theaters Beginning 9/2

Inspired by a true story, GIGI & NATE will take you along on a roller coaster of emotions while uplifting your heart.

Imagine building up the courage to dive off a cliff into the lake, and everything seems fine, but within days, your body takes a turn. A near life threatening reaction turns everything upside down and leaves you paralyzed. Nate experienced all of this and more, struggling day after day, feeling like he can't continue. But then he meets Gigi, a Capuchin monkey that changes him and his families life, forever. Gigi helps Nate's situation improve, giving him the hope he's needed to move through life. With the ups and downs each day brings, Gigi and Nate overcome the obstacles together.

I enjoyed watching this film and seeing Gigi interact with the characters. The movie was slow to begin with, a lot of tension and sadness, but I'm glad I watched it all the way through so I could see the good things about it too. It's a good reminder that, when life tries to knock you down, you might have to take a step or two backward, but hope always brings you back up and shows you that, with a little help, you're strong enough to get through whatever might come your way.

Deception - Book Review

Disclaimer: I received the following product(s) in exchange for my review. All opinions my own.

A book full of suspense with a sprinkle of romance, Deception by Patricia Bradley is one you won't want to put down. This story is about the main character, Madison Thorn, an ISB Ranger, who became entangled in a sad and violent crime, with someone who was supposed to be close to her. This event shaped her future of working in the fraud and cyber crimes division, where she partners with an old childhood rivalry, the handsome Park Ranger, Clayton Bradshaw. These two work together to uncover the mysteries of murder, and violence...one being that of an attack on someone who likes exactly like Madison. It's mystery upon mystery, with a budding friendship that just might lead to romance!

I absolutely enjoyed reading Deception. I started and finished the book within two days! There was so much action in this read, and just when you think the mysteries are solved, another one shows up! Some are predictable and some are not, making this book and excellent read to keep you interested.

You can find Deception available for purchase on Amazon as well as on other book selling locations.

Summer Cookies on the Griddle + Recipe

Have you ever made cookies on the griddle?

I began making these years ago, due to summer heat and an extra large sweet-tooth. It was a hot summer day, and I really wanted to make cookies, but didn't want to turn on the oven, for risk of heating our apartment up more, and causing us to bake even more in the hot summer sun. So I decided to try my hand at making Griddle Cookies!! To make these cookies you need the following ingredients:

1 Egg
6 tbsp butter
A tsp of vanilla
1 Cup of Flour
⅔ cup granulated sugar
½ tsp. of baking soda
½ tsp. of salt

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl, make sure your griddle is heated to 350°, and dollop batter in several spots across the griddle. Cook as you would pancakes, watching the edges bubble, flip when needed and cook on the other side until done. The cookies don't turn out as pretty, and are kind of flat, but they taste really good with crisp edges! You can make them quick and it doesn't heat up your house, so they're perfect for summer time!

Using Every Last Bit Of The Watermelon

While cutting up a hefty watermelon, I had the idea pop into my head, that maybe I could do more than just eating the flesh and tossing the rind. I wanted to try using up every last scrap of the watermelon, all the way down to that bitter rind, and possibly even the skin!

I chopped up the flesh to keep in the fridge for snacking on. The edge next to the rind got sliced and froze for smoothies. The rind got peeled and julienned to freeze for future stir-fry's, and the skin, well, that's the only thing that made it to the trash, because I decided it wasn't worth keeping, this time around :)

Though I have heard, people use it for skincare recipes, I will have to look further into this! But look at how beautiful the turn out was! I found it enjoyable, for my organizing heart.
