Let's Celebrate: March 12th is National Girl Scout Day

Did you know that March 12th is the designated date for National Girl Scout Day? Girl Scouts began in Savannah Georgia, on March 12, 1912, by a lady named Juliette Gordon Low. Juliette organized several adventures for these girls including enrichment programs, outdoor activities, service projects, and more! Her first meeting contained only 18 girls, and has since grown into well over 3.7 million members all around the world! It has quickly become a well known organization where young girls can come together and not only have fun, but also build key traits to help them grow as a person and shape their future.

Many people hear the word of Girl Scouts and automatically think Cookies!! Though their organization is not only about cookies, in 1917 they did have the beautiful idea to start making cookies to help fund their activities. Their first popular flavor was a homemade Sugar Cookie, which was published in The American Girl magazine. Each cookie, made with love by a Girl Scout and mother in the community, were wrapped in wax paper and sealed with a sticker, sold door to door for just 25-35 cents per dozen! By 1951, three new cookie flavors were added on: sandwich, shortbread, and chocolate mint. As time went on, more flavors were added and new names had become, making Girl Scout Cookies to be some of the most famous selling cookie in the region.

With all the cookie sales, Girl Scouts are continuing to be able to provide several amazing experiences to young girls around the world. With our help of purchasing their delicious cookies in several flavors, we can continue helping them develop valuable life skills and make their communities a better place. If you have a little girl that would like to join the Girl Scout Community, check it out here for all the information and details to sign her up. Or if you're looking for a place to purchase a box of their cookies...or 10...you can find that here.

I know I'm about to go indulge in a sleeve of their Thin Mint Cookies...a family favorite!

Trying Crumbl Cookies and Getting Rewards

We finally tried Crumbl Cookies for the first time! The different flavors make it fun, but each cookie is very rich and overly sweet. For our first time going, we picked up all the flavors of the week, to give each one a full try. These flavors included the Galaxy Brownie, the Original Pink Sugar Cookie, Strawberry Cheesecake, Cake Batter Blondie, Snickerdoodle Cupcake, Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk, and the Cookies & Cream Pie.

My favorite cookies from this batch, were the Snickerdoodle Cupcake, but I wish they didn’t have the added frosting on them. They are already delicious without the extra sugar. Next up would be the Cake Batter Blondie. It's simple and the vanilla chips in them were great. I am a cookie monster so I honestly enjoyed all of these cookies, however, if you give me the option to have any of them or a classic chocolate chip cookie, I would choose classic over and over again. But cookies are cookies and I will eat them no matter the flavor, and be happy indulging me sweet tooth once again :)

What cookie would you choose first?

Summer Cookies on the Griddle + Recipe

Have you ever made cookies on the griddle?

I began making these years ago, due to summer heat and an extra large sweet-tooth. It was a hot summer day, and I really wanted to make cookies, but didn't want to turn on the oven, for risk of heating our apartment up more, and causing us to bake even more in the hot summer sun. So I decided to try my hand at making Griddle Cookies!! To make these cookies you need the following ingredients:

1 Egg
6 tbsp butter
A tsp of vanilla
1 Cup of Flour
⅔ cup granulated sugar
½ tsp. of baking soda
½ tsp. of salt

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl, make sure your griddle is heated to 350°, and dollop batter in several spots across the griddle. Cook as you would pancakes, watching the edges bubble, flip when needed and cook on the other side until done. The cookies don't turn out as pretty, and are kind of flat, but they taste really good with crisp edges! You can make them quick and it doesn't heat up your house, so they're perfect for summer time!

Indulge Yourself With Fudge Covered Oreo's

Disclaimer: I received the following product(s) in exchange for my review. All opinions my own.

Did you know Nabisco brought back the Fudge Covered Oreo's?!? These delicious sandwich cookies are better than just an Oreo by itself, because they're coated in chocolate! At 180 calories per 2 cookies, they are luscious and will definitely please your sweet tooth.

I love these fudge covered Oreo's! They're smooth and crunchy, an excellent snack when you're needing something sweet. The chocolate coating is delicious and the Oreo holds together inside, giving each bite a good crunch. These cookies are great for all occasions. But be careful, because they can be very addicting!

You can find the Fudge Covered Oreo's available in a grocery store near you, or on Amazon, where you can also explore other flavors!

This Unicorn Double Taco Holder is such a cute idea to hold tacos in. It can also be used to hold other snacks or meal items in: cookies, cut sandwiches, vegetable sticks, ect. It could possibly even hold your cell phone! The unicorn is easy to assemble and will bring so much fun to the table! It is BPA Free and made of non-toxic, 100% food safe materials. It is said to be dishwasher safe, however I would recommend handwashing to keep it looking great and to prevent water buildup in the cracks. Daily Goodie Box - August 2019

Disclaimer: I received the following product(s) in exchange for my review. All opinions my own.

I received some great items in the August Daily Goodie Box! Check it out below to see all the fun things I tried.

DRY Soda Company - These Culinary-Inspired Sparkling Sodas are lightly sweetened and made with botanical flavors. I received the flavor: Rainier Cherry to try, and wasn't that thrilled with it, as I prefer my sparkling waters to have a stronger flavor. This one was pretty dry in taste, but added a nice touch when I mixed juice in with it. I do like that there are some unique flavors with this brand, so maybe I would like another flavor better!

Bubba’s Fine Foods - Grand Garlic Parm ‘Nana Chips - These are really interesting in the fact that they are made with Bananas and tasted so much like potato chips! They have a great taste and are seasoned perfectly. I would love to see them a bit thinner, more like potato chips, but overall they're really great. I do wish they weren't made with coconut oil, as those with but allergies can't have them.

Foods Alive - Nutritional Yeast. This is my first time trying any kind of nutritional yeast and I am shocked with the great flavor! It tastes so similar to popcorn. It's unreal, that this isn't real cheese haha. I am happy to see that there is this option for those who can't have or choose not to have animal produced cheese. I love that this can be used for so many food items: popcorn, garlic bread, soup, salad, and so much more! It makes a great addition to protein, fiber, and vitamins.

Natralia - Heel Balm - A lotion made specifically for rough, dry feet. It is said to have visible results within 3 days. It will soften your skin, using a balanced blend of Shea Butter, Rosemary Oil, Safflower Oil, and Aloe Vera. It has a decent minty smell, that kind of reminds me of a mix of Tiger Balm and Foundation Makeup. I haven't noticed complete results over 3 days, but it does make my feet feel nice when I apply it before bed.

Evo Hemp - Mocha Chip Hemp Bar - Made with just 7-10 ingredients and no added sugars, fillers, oils, or sulfates, the Evo Hemp Mocha Chip Bar was one of my favorite items to try! I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious this Hemp Protein Bar is! It has an interesting texture, that reminds me of the center of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. It's very soft and creamy like peanut butter with bits of crunchy pieces due to the cashew butter, pea crisps, and chocolate chips. The flavor is sweet and very enjoyable, making it feel like a dessert in every bite! I would love to try all their flavors!

Aqua Biome™ - Fish Oil Classic Strength - I love the benefits that are said to be given with taking fish oil pills (promotes digestion, balances mood, supports the immune system, joints, and so much more) so I will continue trying these out, but the fishy burps are almost unbearable when I'm not a fan of fish flavor lol. With every burp, it tastes as if I just ate a larger piece of salmon. Definitely take on a full stomach and probably before bed to avoid bad breath during the day ;)

SolarDerm - After Sun Facial Moisturizer helps sooth the facial skin after sitting in the sun for too long, which is especially good to use after getting a sunburn. It also helps prevent premature aging and skin cancer by using natural resources from green tea and oats, to replenish skin and keep it hydrated. There is a slight scent to this moisturizer, though it fades after time. It leaves my skin feeling soft and nourished, I really like it!

Flathau’s Fine Foods - All Natural Shortbread Cookies - These Shortbread Cookies are so delicious! My favorite item from this Goodie Box because they're so great. The cookies are soft enough, with a nice little crunch and they have a hint of caramel to the taste. They are a bit crumbly, but worth every bite.

I've enjoyed trying another batch of products and looking forward to the next! Would you like to try your in Goodie Box for free? Join the Daily Goodie Box to receive your own set of products to test!

Laird Superfood Creamers + Get 20% Off! *

Disclaimer: I received the following product(s) in exchange for my review. All opinions my own.

Are you looking for a healthier alternative to creamer?

Laird Superfood Creamers are made with simple ingredients, and are better for you than other creamers with a lot of sugars added in. This creamer has 4g or less of low-glycemic coconut sugar per serving and it's made with all-natural, whole food ingredients. It also contains Aquamin, which is a multi-mineral complex that is rich in calcium, magnesium, and 72 trace minerals. The creamer is vegan and Paleo friendly, also free of stevia, dairy, soy, gluten, and GMOs.

I recently had the chance to test the Laird Superfood Creamers in original and cacao flavors. This is such a great product if you're looking for a healthier creamer. I like that you can have the option for a vanilla coconutty flavor and a chocolate coconutty flavor. They equally go great in hot drinks such as coffee, tea, or cocoa.

You add about a tbs to your hot drink and mix. The powder mixes well in hot liquids, especially when you use a power operated frother whisk. I added some of the creamer to my hot cocoa and it tasted delicious, like an Almond Joy Candy Bar, with a bit of cream. Definitely recommend! The creamer doesn't need refrigerated so you can travel easily with it and store it as you please. This is the perfect creamer for coconut lovers!

Splenda Naturals Sugar & Stevia Sweetener Blend

Disclaimer: I received the following product(s) in exchange for my review. All opinions my own.

Baking season is right around the corner which means lots of sweets will be consumed! But what if you could bake goodies with 50% less calories then usual? With Splenda Naturals Stevia Sweeteners you can enjoy sweets at a lighter balance with half the amount of calories that sugar contains. This sweetener is made with pure cane sugar and stevia leaf extract and contains non-GMO ingredients and no added flavor or colors. Every 1/2 teaspoon of this blend is the equivalent to one full teaspoon of traditional sugar, making it last longer as less is being used! Just think of all the goodies you can make with this!

In the past, I have never been a huge Splenda fan because it always left a bad aftertaste. I was pleasantly surprised with the Splenda Naturals sweetener, as it tastes amazing and there wasn't any bitter result. This is from Splenda's specialized Reb D blend, much different from their original Reb A blend. You can truly taste the difference! I have made several treats using Splenda Naturals so far...some of those include Easy Sugar Cookies, Lemonade, Apple Tisane, and Cinnamon Cake. I have enjoyed every single recipes I've used this product in. I find the sweetener dissolves extremely well in liquids, and mixes perfectly in batter. And the only aftertaste I'm getting is the ultimate sweetness! I love that I can use less of this sweetener in all my recipes so it doesn't get used up so quickly. I can't wait to see all the sweets I come up with during the Holiday season!

You can find Splenda Naturals Sugar & Stevia Sweetener Blend available for purchase in stores near you including Walmart, Acme, Food Lion, and Weis Markets. Also be sure to visit splenda.com for more products and information, as well as recipes!

Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts - Raw Shelled Hemp Seeds

Disclaimer: I received the following product(s) in exchange for my review. All opinions my own.

Add a little extra nutrients and texture to your food with
 Manitoba Harvest's Hemp Heart Seeds!

These little versatile seeds are full of nutritious goods including 10grams of plant based protein and 10grams of omega-3 and omega-6 per every 30gram serving. That's more than a same size serving of flax or chia! Not to mention their nutty flavor and crunchy texture adds such a great vibe to your foods! You can add these Hemp Seeds to your yogurt or cereal, in a smoothie, sprinkled on salad, even eat them straight from the bag! But my favorite way to indulge in these seeds are to bake them in my waffles!! They add such a delicious little crunchiness to all the edges, and that nutty factor is perfect for snacking on.

You can use Hemp Heart Seeds for many awesome creations, but why not also add in some healthy fun for your next kids party. How about adding the seeds to an ice cream topping bar! They can be in place of peanuts, or an added extra! Kids will love topping their ice cream or frozen yogurt with these delicious little nut pods. The seeds make a beautiful khaki color and you can pretend they're sprinkles ;) I really enjoy eating Hemp Seeds, as their nutty taste and crunch goes good with so many things. I will leave you with my handy waffle recipe for you to enjoy!

2 Cups Flour
4tsp Baking Powder
1/2tsp Salt
3 Tbsp Oil
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 Cups Water
Your choice on the amount of Hemp Heart Seeds

Vanilla Bean Blondies + Recipe

Are you looking for a simple yet delicious recipe to make today?
You've come to the right spot! Below I will share with you how to make easy Vanilla Bean Blondies!

First you need the ingredients:

1/2 Cup of Butter, melted
1 Cup Sugar
1 Egg
1tsp Vanilla
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/8 tsp Baking Soda
Pinch of Salt (optional)
1 Cup of Flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease an 8x8 or 8x13 pan.  I use 8x13 and like the way mine come out. Not too thick and not too thin. If I were to be fancy, I would tell you to whisk the butter and sugar together, then add in the egg and vanilla while slowly adding in the dry ingredients, but let's be honest...it works just as well, throwing all the ingredients into one big bowl and mixing it well. That's how I do it anyways.

If you want your blondies to be extra moist, you can add in a pack of Jell-o's Simply Good Vanilla Bean Instant Pudding Mix! I did this and they came out extremely moist, almost gooey like. But it's perfect even without that add on. Once your ingredients are all mixed together, pour the batter into your greased pan, add in any sprinkles if you want, and place into the oven for about 20-30 minutes. The time really depends on your oven, so keep aware of the smell and golden brown top of your blondies. Test the middle with a toothpick and if it comes out clean, the blondies are done and ready to cool! They come out tasting delicious, moist, and slightly chewy. They are a family favorite!

If your feeling a little slump, you gotta try one of these Get Up And Go Cookies!

They are packed full of Caffeine, 1 Cookie=1 Shot of Coffee and if you're not use to so much Caffeine, it will have you wired all day! I was amazed by the amount of energy just one cookie gave me. I ate an entire cookie my first time trying these, because it is so good and I have a bad sweet tooth. I should've only tried half, but lets just say I got a TON of stuff done that day! haha. The next time, I ate half a cookie and that was perfect. I really love these cookies. It's a nice alternative to coffee, and you get a dessert out of it! Highly recommend!

And please be aware, these are absolutely NOT for children.

Volcano Cookies

I call these volcano cookies because the tops look like volcanoes!

I made the cookie dough with this recipe:

3/4 c granulated sugar
3/4c packed brown sugar
1c butter, softened
1 egg
21/4c flour
1tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Mixed it all together, rolled it into some plastic wrap and let it sit in the fridge over night.

The next day I cute the roll into slices and rolled them into balls,
flattened em and placed a milky way candy bar atop it.
Baked in the oven at 375 degrees until they were golden.

The caramel in the Milky Way candy bars made the middle of the cookie chewier
than I like so I just made the rest candy bar-less. :)
